Propeller
Overview
Launched in February 2006, propeller is the first digital satellite television channel in Europe to screen 100% new and original programming, and showcasing raw, edgy and challenging television. Funded by Yorkshire Forward, The learning and Skills Council and The Higher Education Funding Council, propeller is taking a leading role in nurturing quality work from new and emerging film talent.

Programming
Red Carpet- Sassy, sexy, moving original...we're not just talking about Peter Marshall and Benn Cordrey, presenters of Red Carpet, but all the films on this showcase of new hot student talent from across the UK.
- Broadcasting at 10pm every Saturday night, this is an opportunity for viewers to view a two hour special showcasing the best new short films in the industry, and vote for their favourites.
- The new music show showcasing videos by the very best new bands in Britain.
- 36 short films offering a selection of uplifting, life-affirming, funny shorts every Monday from 9-11pm.
- Propeller's first short film festival takes place over 5 days, from 27th – 31st March 2008. ShortFest is a celebration of the best original shorts submitted by new filmmaking talent.
