What's it all about?
ZEE Network's channel was first launched in India in March 2000. Britain has a very large Gujarati community and Zee has now brought this channel here to give the Asian audience settled in the UK their first ever 24 hour Gujarati channel.
Philosophy
This channel focuses on wholesome family entertainment, which will appeal to all ages. It aims to bring the community closer together by providing a platform for promoting and preserving the rich Gujarati culture. It is a wonderful mix of traditional and contemporary programming, news and current affairs.
Programming
The channel celebrates the GUJARATI heritage with special festival centric programmes for occasions like Navratri. The schedule has a great mix of drama, comedy, culture and lifestyle programmes. Aimed at entertaining the family.
Programming highlights
Aapni Rasoi - New concept where a film crew invite themselves to a viewer's kitchen and produce a whole array of traditional Asian dishes.
Aapni Kitty - Every women from a street in Britain is invited to a neighbours living room from there they broadcast a show including live quizzes and general fun and games.
Pa Dah Nisa - Series of Gujarati singing contests where contestants that make the final can win a massive prize fund, judged by famous Gujarati artists.
